Edna B. Foa, PhD is a clinical psychologist internationally recognized for her pioneering work on anxiety disorders, particularly obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD) and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). She is Professor of Clinical Psychology in Psychiatry at the University of Pennsylvania and Director of the Center for the Treatment and Study of Anxiety. Foa developed Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE), a highly effective, evidence-based treatment for PTSD. She has authored numerous influential books and scientific publications and has received many awards for her contributions to the field of mental health.
