Otto F. Kernberg, MD is a psychiatrist and psychoanalyst internationally renowned for his work on personality disorders, particularly borderline personality disorder. He is Professor of Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medical College and Director of the Personality Disorders Institute at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital. Kernberg has made major contributions to object relations theory and the development of Transference-Focused Psychotherapy (TFP). He is the author of numerous influential books and papers on personality organization, narcissism, and psychoanalytic theory.
