Dr. Leigh McCullough (June 1945 – June 2012) was an American psychotherapist, researcher and teacher. She is the pioneer of short-term dynamic psychotherapy (STDP) and Affect Phobia Therapy (APT). McCullough was an assiociate clinical Professor at the Harvard Medical school and director of the research program on psychotherapy. She won the Michael Franz Basch Award in 1996 of the Silvan Tomkins Institute for her contributions to the research on affect in psychotherapy. She was part of the editorial boars of 'Psychotherapy Research' and the magazine 'Brief Therapy' and gave trainings and lectures worldwide on Affect Phobia Therapy.
