Prof. Dr. Vikram Patel is a Professor of Global Health and Social Medicine at the Harvard Medical School. He is co-founder of the Sangath in Goa, India and has an honorary doctorate at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in the UK. Prof. Dr. Vikram Patel focuses on ‘global mental health’. He has been acknowledged internationally for his work to diminish the burden of psychiatric conditions. Patel also works on child development and the health of adolescence. In 2015 he was nominated by TIME Magazine as one of the top 100 most influential people worldwide.
